This is an ‘html-only’ version of Scribblings with no database behind it. This means it is not possible to search it. I am working on a new version with which I am hoping to eventually put back into the main site. The new version is here but please note that there is no link directly back to the main site.

Another ‘persecuted’ Christian
Yet another Christian is arguing that they have been persecuted and sacked just for being a Christian. There seems to be a never ending stream of people claiming to be suffering adversely because of their ‘deeply held beliefs’.
When you actually look at these cases, as the courts have done many times, you find that the perceived persecution was nothing of the sort. In this particular example the woman was sacked for refusing to do her job and taking an inordinate amount of time off so far as I can tell. If she has an issue with those reasons, and she may well have, then instead of trumpeting nonsense about prejudice she’d do far better to fight on the genuine issue. Claiming religious discrimination has not, so far, won back many jobs.
These Christians always claim some variant of ‘I have deeply held beliefs which mean that I can’t do blah which my job requires me to do’ — that is to say that they claim that merely holding a religious belief entitles them to special consideration to which others are not entitled. Give it a rest.
Since moving the site to a new server Scribblings is not as easy to find your way around as it used to be. It used to depend on a script and a database on the server but is currently served as ‘flat html’.
I have some ideas about how to make it a bit easier but they depend on writing another script. I hope to get around to it ‘eventually’.
Searching Scribblings is not available at the moment.
