This is an ‘html-only’ version of Scribblings with no database behind it. This means it is not possible to search it. I am working on a new version with which I am hoping to eventually put back into the main site. The new version is here but please note that there is no link directly back to the main site.

Iranian ‘justice’
Not content with killing more people per head of population than any other country in the world Iran is now proposing to drip acid into a man’s eyes because he blinded someone else by throwing acid in her face. This is not justice. It’s revenge.
In a bizarre twist the injured woman says that she expects the man to be blinded in only one eye because under Sharia law a man is worth two women or, alternatively, a woman is worth half a man.
This despicable nation with its warped views of humanity really needs to be called to account. If this is not a ‘cruel and unusual punishment’, such as is banned by the UN charters to which Iran is a signatory then I don’t know what is.
Beware of theocrats for they shall remove your ability to behave humanely.
An apology
Since moving the site to a new server Scribblings is not as easy to find your way around as it used to be. It used to depend on a script and a database on the server but is currently served as ‘flat html’.
I have some ideas about how to make it a bit easier but they depend on writing another script. I hope to get around to it ‘eventually’.
