This is an ‘html-only’ version of Scribblings with no database behind it. This means it is not possible to search it. I am working on a new version with which I am hoping to eventually put back into the main site. The new version is here but please note that there is no link directly back to the main site.

Pitiless inhuman sadists

Just in case anyone thinks I’ve only got it in for the Catholic Church there are also nasty deeds being done in the name of Islam by the government of Iran. These people still think that a great punishment for misdemeanors such as adultery is to bury you in the ground and throw stones at you until you’re dead.

Details of how stonings are carried out make harrowing reading while videos of a stoning can make you vomit.

It doesn’t seem to be enough that these twisted minds can condemn people to death for non-crimes. Oh no, they have to make that death as drawn out and tortuous as they possibly can. It ain’t like in the Life of Brian where someone comes along and drops a big rock on you: the Iranian code specifies that the stones should be just big enough to cause injury but not large enough for any individual stone to lead to your death. Sickening.

The Iranian government is bad enough in using this barbaric practice but what sort of depraved people do they get to actually carry it out? Why folks, all men of course, who are entirely convinced that they’re carrying out God’s will. Some god, huh? Best avoided.

An apology

Since moving the site to a new server Scribblings is not as easy to find your way around as it used to be. It used to depend on a script and a database on the server but is currently served as ‘flat html’.

I have some ideas about how to make it a bit easier but they depend on writing another script. I hope to get around to it ‘eventually’.
