This is an ‘html-only’ version of Scribblings with no database behind it. This means it is not possible to search it. I am working on a new version with which I am hoping to eventually put back into the main site. The new version is here but please note that there is no link directly back to the main site.

Six metres of hair

Tran Van Hay in Vietnam has not had a haircut in 31 years, presumably not since 1973 assuming the Vietnamese live in the same Universe as the rest of us. His hair is now 6.2 metres long.

I’m a bit peeved by this. I’ve not had a haircut since 1969 (35 years) and my hair is nowhere near that long. Mine’s more like 25 cm which is more or less the length it’s been for the past 30 years or so. Not that I’d want hair as long as Mr Tran’s; it would get caught in the bike chain as well as being a bugger to wash and would possibly need its own seat on the bus. It does leave me wondering whether there are long haired and short haired breeds of people just like there are with cats and dogs. It would be interesting, to me anyway, to find the person in the world who’d avoided a haircut for the longest and had the shortest hair.

An apology

Since moving the site to a new server Scribblings is not as easy to find your way around as it used to be. It used to depend on a script and a database on the server but is currently served as ‘flat html’.

I have some ideas about how to make it a bit easier but they depend on writing another script. I hope to get around to it ‘eventually’.
