This is an ‘html-only’ version of Scribblings with no database behind it. This means it is not possible to search it. I am working on a new version with which I am hoping to eventually put back into the main site. The new version is here but please note that there is no link directly back to the main site.

Who are these people?

Ever wondered when reading press reports just who the people they’re rabbiting on about really are? I’ve just discovered Disinfopedia1, a gem of a site which aims to fill you in on people, issues and groups shaping the public agenda.

Like Wikipedia, on which the design is closely modelled, you can edit existing articles and add your own if you wish. The site includes a handy guide to researching your subject using the Internet and other sources of information.

Could prove very, very handy for clearing up confusion and sussing out whether what you’re reading, seeing or hearing really is just propaganda.

1 Disinfopedia has now changed its name to Sourcewatch. I’ve updated the link accordingly although links to www.disinfopedia.org still work; they simply redirect you to the new address.

An apology

Since moving the site to a new server Scribblings is not as easy to find your way around as it used to be. It used to depend on a script and a database on the server but is currently served as ‘flat html’.

I have some ideas about how to make it a bit easier but they depend on writing another script. I hope to get around to it ‘eventually’.
