An unbalanced Bush

George Monbiot has an alarming piece in today’s Grauniad about the people who are influencing Bush’s Middle East policies (and probably much else besides if truth be told).
These folks are a bunch of fundamentalist Christians who believe in the idea of Rapture. They believe that with the Second Coming of Jesus they are going to be whipped out of their clothes and float about nude in the sky gloating at the rest of us being subjected to all sorts of degradations.
As Monbiot comments, Bush is foolish to pay heed to these nutters but would also be foolish not to since millions of Americans believe in this sort of crap.
